Reduce designers' workload with Optimization Solution Defining a Device Model as Variables

I can not deal with components and circuit modules as variables in the circuit simulator I have.
Much of my time is spent on simple tasks as I repeat cut-and-try analysis many times.
Designing takes a lot of time and work as it is only based on my skills and experience.

Optimized design support tool Optimus, which deals with discrete variables, enables you to perform automatic repetitive analysis using string variables such as element names. Also, using extensive optimization algorithms in Optimus, you can find a combination of elements and circuit blocks that minimizes noise and cost while meeting the specifications.   1. Create a circuit diagram using OrCAD to prepare a model (lib file) of elements and modules, which will be defined as input variables.
  2. Define the order of automatic processing on the GUI and select elements as variables from the netlist for the analysis.
  3. Find the optimal combination model through the optimization analysis in Optimus.

Example of Analysis Using the Solution

Below is a case where noise terminal voltage in a flyback converter is minimized using Optimus's optimization function called Differential Evolution (DE). The switching element, noise filter and snubber circuit are defined as variables to specify the optimal combination of elements for noise reduction.
A simple flyback converter with wiring inductance and stray capacitance is used as an analysis model, and the noise is calculated by inserting an LISN equivalent circuit in the power line.
Not only does it perform automatic analysis using string variables, it also provides results equivalent to analysis where every possible combination is calculated, in one fifth of the time. The workload for designers can be significantly reduced using this optimization algorithm.
